Project Spotlight is our special initiative to support emerging creative voices in Norwich and it’s surrounding areas.
It includes two exciting strands:

A space for 7 - 17 years to explore writing, acting, and storytelling - and to share their perspective through performance.

OUR TEAM

David Lester – Board Director & Chair
With a wealth of experience in community theatre and a passion for directing a diverse array of plays, David is excited to be part of Drama Mavericks, aimed at enriching the local community. He has undertaken previous roles in theatre strategy and marketing as well as the overall development of theatrical programmes, ensuring that arts remain vibrant and accessible to the community.
His hands-on experience backstage has further deepened his appreciation for collaborative nature of theatre, emphasising the vital role that teamwork plays in creating a successful production. He is particularly focused on engaging those under 35 years, a demographic often underrepresented in theatre productions and audiences.

Jasmine Pearce – Board Director & Co-Artistic Director
Jasmine is a passionate, well known and knowledgeable professional actress, singer, musician and performing arts teacher, dedicating her life to honing her craft and helping others on their journey.
With a vast education in musical theatre, acting, singing and classical piano, she has also achieved many qualifications in the Vocal Health sector and is a qualified Vocal Health First Aider.
Jasmine is also an independent singer/songwriter with her songs featuring on BBC Introducing and multiple local radio stations, as well as reaching thousands across her following on social media.
Jasmine’s very excited to embark on this new journey with Drama Mavericks to bring more modern writing and performing opportunities, both amdram and professional, to Norfolk!

Ben Nash – Board Director & Co-Artistic Director
Ben Nash is a seasoned director, movement specialist, and company director of Drama Mavericks CIC. With a career spanning theatre, dance, and film, he has worked with leading institutions like Norwich Theatre, Vatic Theatre, and Bristol Old Vic Theatre School, where he earned his MA in Drama Directing. His expertise in physical storytelling and choreography has shaped numerous productions, from large-scale musicals to intimate theatre pieces.
At Drama Mavericks, Ben has served as Movement Director for Home, I’m Darling and Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time and will be directing upcoming productions. Beyond Drama Mavericks, his diverse experience includes directing pantomimes, youth theatre, and community-driven projects, as well as choreographing for stage and screen. Passionate about innovative and accessible theatre, Ben continues to push creative boundaries, bringing compelling stories to life
